Brand Personality

It reflects what OVO has stood for since the beginning.

Optimistic

OVO know that there's a better to do energy. That's why the Square is angled upwards at 15°. It's powerfully positive and always switched on.

Gutsy

They're not afraid to stand out by using the visual assets in an unexpected way. Whether that's pushing outside of the sides of the square or playing with bold type to make a statement.

Straight talking

OVO know that energy is complex - and it's all about simplifying for the customer. So we use visual assets to show rather than tell what we are trying to say.

Inclusive

The visual identity puts people at the heart of energy. So we celebrate their everyday stories, championing their individuality and moments of collective power.

Colour palette

OVO's primary colour palette is born from nature and inspired by tech, it reflects big ambitions for people and planet.

Custom typeface

OVO Circular was born from the square, so it's iconically OVO and helps amplify their message when talking to customers.

Ownable icons

Inspired by the logo, we used the Square to make cuts in the stroke of our icons. This creates a clean and distinct icon style.

Photography and film

OVO is a people-first brand, so we used photography and film to hero that - telling real stories about their customers and the role that OVO's products and services play in their lives.

The photography and film is energised by natural light and celebrates individuality and empowering the everyday.

Displaying products

We used the Square as a holding device to elevate how we show products and make them ownable.

Illustrations

We developed a set of illustrations to help tell stories. They are used to visualise products and services or explain information to customers when photography is not an option.
